Introduction

Bumstead Chevrolet was a car dealership located in downtown Troy at the corner of Congress St. and 6th Ave. It was founded in 1925 and closed in 1983.

History

Bumstead Chevrolet was Founded in 1925 by William Howard Bumstead [4], around 1950 ownership was transferred to James K. Patrick (son in law), who owned the dealership until 1981 [1] [3], the dealership continued to operate for another 2 years before being sold in 1983 [2]. Under the ownership of James Patrick, Bumstead Chevrolet became one of the biggest Chevy Dealers in New York state.[1]
